Authority in physics is even more authoritatively defined than force is defined in physics. Of course, Force, the famous Newtonian Force, cancels out of every equation physicists ever write. But every equation physicists write contains authority as its secret ingredient. Authority cannot be cancelled. Without authority physics equation would be meaningless. This is so because without physicists’ authority we would not know how to read the equality sign which is defined 4 times, at least.
As one of the most jealously guarded secrets of their profession physicists never let outside world know how they calculate authority. In scholastic academic physics the majority of the working hours of every physicist is spent evaluating authority so that they can move up in the hierarchy.
This is the definition of authority physicists don’t want you to know:
A = (R + S) * F^2
Therefore, given equal Rank and Seniority the physicist with more Fame would have the most authority.
The other thing to notice is that this equation is independent of Knowledge. There is no term here for K. This doesn’t mean that physicists do not know physics. It means that it is irrelevant how much physics a physicist knows. How much physics you know is only relevant for teaching physics which gains you no authority points. Instead of knowing physics you need to know how to pass exams and then how to obtain fame.
Physicists who concentrate on obtaining rank and seniority are left behind by a physicist who concentrates on obtaining fame. Every physicist already knows this. Think Brian Greene v. yourself as a physicist. If publishing a paper in a respectable peer reviewed journal is taken as unit point of authority, a one sentence quote in New York Times Science Section is worth 7,000 authority points.
Paper in peer reviewed journal / Quote in New York Times = 1 / 7,000
This number is calculated easily by considering how Einstein gained infinite fame by owning the front page of New York Times.
Semantic physics is independent of authority. Semantic physics does not use equations. Proportionalities have no secret ingredients.
Against a theoretical physicist this writer has zero authority. Whatever I write can easily be overruled by the authority of a theoretical physicist. This proves the immense authority of physicists. The more authority a physicist has the more shamanistic a shaman she becomes.
It turns out that science has no use for authority. Scholastic physics is based on authority.
