Is cosmology theology? 2
1 Comment Published by admin April 10th, 2008 in Science, Religion, Doctors of Philosophy, cosmologyImagine a circle. Let the inside of the circle be the observable world. Cosmologists and physicists agree that there is no information coming from outside of this circle.
First principle of cosmology: We do not know what is outside of the observable world.
Therefore what is observed is local. Extrapolation from the local to the universal is […]
Another nice graphic by Flip Tomato. A couple of things I noticed that I’d like to mention. Flip Tomato considers “our solar system” astronomy but “our galaxy & galaxy cluster” to be cosmology. To me everything observable is astronomy.
He also takes care to write “the observable universe” and avoids the Famous Big Bang Trope.
Or does […]
When I write that Newtonism is religion I don’t mean Newtonism is Christianity.
I abstract the properties of hierarchical bureaucracies and generalize them and recognize them as the same organism.
Newtonism is a professional hierarchy based on faith.
Organized religion is professional hierarchy based on faith.
They are both religion.
See this table showing how Newtonism and Christianity have the […]
Uri Geller and Sean Carroll: two visionaries of the occult
3 Comments Published by admin February 19th, 2008 in Science, Religion, Physics, Doctors of Philosophy, Newton1. Occult does not exist
I believe that occult does not exist. This is simply proved: Occult means supernatural. To deny the existence of the occult simply means that nature is not supernatural.
Principle:
Nature is not supernatural.
I use the denial of the occult as a principle to prove, for instance, that Newtonian force does not exist because […]
Clifford Johnson, a physicist, teaches in a course that gravity does not exist:
There simply is no gravity.
Then when he teaches Newtonian mechanics he tells his students that gravity is an experimentally proved quantity.
Does gravity exist in one classroom and not in another? What happened to the consistency of laws of physics in every reference frame? […]
Newton’s zeroeth law
3 Comments Published by admin February 13th, 2008 in Science, Religion, Physics, Doctors of Philosophy, NewtonThus spoke Newton, the founder of modern physics:
God in the beginning formed matter in solid, massy, hard, impenetrable movable particles.
God is Newtonian
No. You are not reading Genesis 1. Although Newton is referring to the same God. Like all other prophets finding in themselves the right to speak in the name of God, Newton too finds […]
A proposal to John Templeton Foundation
1 Comment Published by admin February 9th, 2008 in Religion, Marketing, Doctors of Philosophy, Newton, Database, Spirutuality, ProposalHere’s a draft for a proposal to John Templeton Foundation. (Read the Proposal to Perimeter Institute.) Templeton Foundation supports research on spirituality1 so I am emphasizing the spiritual side of Freedom of Science.
1. Spiritual places
I am interested in understanding for myself what spirituality means. Let’s go to a place I visited a few years ago […]
How did Newtonism turn into a religion?
0 Comments Published by admin February 8th, 2008 in Religion, Physics, Doctors of Philosophy, NewtonNewtonism has always been a politico-religious movement. The dynamics of this movement can be found in the 18th century European politics. European history is a series of arguments escalated to wars by rulers over their ideas about whose standard should be the official European standard. Instead of cooperating on defining, say, a standard yardstick to […]
Scott McNealy asks
why is California paying some $400 million annually to update K-12 textbooks?
The answer is
to perpetuate the state religion called Newtonism.
There is perfect synergy between governments and the Big Media. Neither the Big Media nor the state has the benefit of the students in mind. Both aim to increase their profits by selling textbooks that […]
What’s 122 orders of magnitude between friends?
0 Comments Published by admin July 15th, 2007 in Religion, Physics, Doctors of Philosophy, Shaman, AlphysicsFrom an article in New Scientist:
The mysterious cosmic presence called dark energy, which is accelerating the expansion of the universe, might be lurking in hidden dimensions of space. … To get the same amount of acceleration seen by astronomers, Greene and Levin calculate that the extra dimensions should have a scale of about 0.01 millimeter.
