In other words, mathematics is the Latin of physicists. The quote above summarizes this idea so well! The key of understanding this situation is that indeed there are two distinct elements here: numbers and squiggles.

Numbers are quantities. Numbers are used scientifically in proportionalities. There is no ambiguity with numbers.

Now combine numbers with squiggles. What do you get? You get a cabalistic proprietary language. Just like Latin.

When you combine numbers and squiggles it becomes possible to prove and disprove anything. Even “things that don’t strictly need proof or disproof” can be proved and disproved by physicists.

What I would add to this quote is that physicists are crooked professionals who use numbers and squiggles to practice their black art called physics, but they claim the authority of numbers! They market their scholastic polemics as exact numbers. Their squiggles corrupt the numbers and physicists still claim the authority of numbers to sell their black art as science.

Very clever. I am happy that more and more people are recognizing that professional physicists are no different than any other professionals.
