Data types in physics

What are the data types in physics?

I made an initial list in this wiki:

  • Numbers
  • Strings
  • Variables
  • Constants
  • Units
  • Composite data types
  • Operators
  • Reference systems
  • Pictorial elements
  • Concepts
  • Experiments
  • Languages
  • Observables

Commentary:

Data types in physics do not have the precision of data types in computer science. There is no single authority which defines, maintains and enforces the purety of data types. If physics were a computer language and nature the interpreter of this language, physics would be full of errors.

Come to think of it physics is full of errors handed to physicists by nature. Physicists turn those errors into features of nature and keep going.

A precise classification of data types in physics and their domain where they are valid will be good for physics.
