Physicists like to contrast physics with religion. In current usage physics is a pun for science and physicists exploit this pun and use physics interchangeably with science. But the contrast is not between science or physics and religion but between science and legal. Here’s what I mean.

Is physics pseudo-science?

There is a lot of talk going on about physics being pseudo-science. Since most of this talk is perpetuated by physicists themselves I suspect that they have not thought about it beyond the buzzword. You cannot trust people who have no idea what science is, the Newtonian faithful who call themselves physicists, to know what pseudo of it would be. As usual physicists are repeating Newtonian mythology.

• perfidum scientia (deceitful science)?
• mendax scientia (lying science)?
• vanum scientia (vain science)?

Physics is a witches brew of all of the above.

But why should physics be a type of science? Physics is a scholastic legal system. We don’t say law is legal science.

The problem arises because physicists have the right to define what science is. But physicists know better than defining science. There are no well-defined definitions of science in scholastic physics. Physicists defined what they do as science. By definition whatever a physicist does is called science.

This is the same kind of definition you would find in art. Art is defined by artists as whatever an artist does. Modern, too, is a process-dependent definition. Modern has no meaning of its own. Whatever an artist does is modern. This is how words become institutionalized.

Science is not the scientific method

There is no static definition of what science is in physics. Science is tied to a meaningless buzzword invented by Newton called scientific method. As Newtonian faithful physicists believe that science is scientific method. No one knows what scientific method is. No practicing scientist uses the scientific method, it is undefined, but physicists will insist that science is the scientific method. Clearly therefore, scientific method is physicists’ pun for Newtonian method. What else do you expect from Newtonian priests.

Physics is not science, it is legal

If we must insist on using the word science to describe physics then physics is pun-science. Which is the same thing as saying that physics is legal.

Definition:

Physics is not science or a type of science. Physics is legal.

Legal is not science

The contrast is not between science and religion but between science and legal. Legal systems such as religion and law and physics are not sciences. They are legal. Legal is not based on meaning but on pun. Legal statements have no meaning because they have at least two meanings: the letter and the spirit.

Theorem:

Legal statements are meaningless.

Proof:

Each legal statement has at least two meanings: the letter and the spirit. In addition, a legal statement can have any meaning the practitioner will ascribe to it to promote his case. Anything that can have any meaning has no meaning.

So all legal statements are meaningless because they have infinite meanings ascribed to them by the authority of the practitioners.

Legal is scholasticism

Definition:

Legal is the legal code of a legal system.

Therefore, legal covers

• legal code used to legislate society
• legal code used to legislate human behavior by higher authorities
• legal code used by any type of hierarchy to legislate its practitioners and its constituency and
• the legal code of physics used to legislate physicists.

Religion, law, physics, tax code, bank regulations, club rules, are all legal. Once this is understood then all the absurdities physicists create in the name of science will make sense.

Physicists are like all other lawmakers. They are corrupt opportunists continuously negotiating laws and amendments to gain authority points to further their careers. They corrupt and debase the existing code and in the process make it more and more complicated. This serves them well. More complex code means they have more things to teach to make a living. And more complex also means they can define their code as the true law of nature and claim that only they understand it. This is how physicists monetize their code besides teaching.

Same corrupt doctors different name

Galileo realized when he looked at scholastic doctors of his time that they were corrupt Doctors of Philosophy debasing science to further their career. Why is it that we do not perceive that physicists are using the exact same method used by the same scholastic doctors Galileo faced?

Here as everything else in physics we must deal with Newton. Newton was such a marketing genius that he defined Peripatetic doctors he replaced as corrupt doctors, he defined Theological Doctors as evil theologians and bundled them with Peripatetics and he defined himself and his disciples the Doctors of Philosophy as the good doctors the Natural Philosophers. This is still the definition people believe in.

So when I write that physicists are corrupt Doctors of Philosophy people don’t believe it because for them Doctor of Philosophy conjures image of monks in hooded habits perched on high desks copying stuff in Greek on parchment with quill pen.

No one today can perceive Scholastic Doctors of Philosophy such as Lisa Randall, Sean Carroll, Garrett Lisi, Lee Smolin, Sabin Hossenfelder, just to name a few, as Doctors of Philosophy practicing the same profession because they are not writing with quill pens on parchment and they don’t wear hooded habits but the profession is the same. The attitude is the same.

The true name of the profession, the PhD, stays the same, the only difference is that now the profession is branded to match the tastes of the era. No one wants to be called a philosopher today. Scholastic brand is always polished and maintained.

Also consider that to Galileo and his contemporaries scholastic doctors looked not as grotesque scholastic doctors wearing hoods but as symbols of authority. Just like the physicists of today. Only names change. Instead of Aristotle physicists of today defend Newtonian doctrines.

Scholasticism is a legal system

Galileo saw that scholasticism is a legal system. He then reduced this authority based legal system based on labels and puns into geometry. This horrified scholastic doctors.

Imagine that you impose into scholastic profession a rule such that any given concept can only have one meaning. So you enforce in physicistan that force means force and nothing more.

The new and improved scientific method for physics:

Any given symbol can only have one meaning.

Example: You cannot label a symbol such as “force” a field, a particle, gravity, occult, not occult and so on. This would be the end of physics.

Physicists like to define any symbol as many time as necessary so that they can form good puns and pick and choose as necessary to support any contingency of scenarios. In fact career points are obtained by making successful definitions. Such a rule will take away the authority to define from the practitioners. Puns will become illegal.

But legal scholastic doctors make their living by inventing new labels for old labels. Most of them will be out of work. No pun no authority. No authority no career. No way such a rule can exist in scholastic physics.

Puns are context sensitive and can only be parsed by the authority of the practitioners. And that’s how physicists want it.

Of course physicists are scientists and they will wholeheartedly accept a new and well-defined scientific method. Everyone is for science.

But, please allow them to make one amendment:

Any given symbol can only have one meaning plus or minus any other meaning.

Scholastic doctors will not give up their authority to define so easily.

Physicists corrupted geometry

After Galileo removed the authority of scholastic doctors’ absolute power to define and corrupt language and established the authority of geometry as the true authority geometry enjoyed a brief scientific period. Newton made geometry once again the servant of Doctors of Philosophy.

Just look at Newton’s figures in his Principa. You will see that Newton plastered pictures on geometric points in order to call a point a point when he wants it and a line when he wants it. Newton is king of puns. Newton labels points S and P to stand for Sun and Planet and then has his engraver draw a rendered image of S and P and calls them mass and makes the points proportional to lines just because he labeled points mass. This is how Newton violates geometry and turns it into the new Latin. This is what Newton’s disciples the physicists are still doing.

Physics therefore is a punful of legal code. It is not science. In science, any given statement can only have one well defined meaning.
