Physics database
Published by admin February 5th, 2008 in Physics, DatabaseTycho Brahe spent his own money and created an observatory and started to build a new database. As true to his European character, Brahe considered the database to be his own property and did not share it. His dream was to use this new improved database to develop his Tychonic World which was something in between Ptolemaic and Copernican models.
Therefore, astronomy is a database problem. In Europe individuals or institutions controlled by rulers owned databases of astronomical objects and did not share it with others in order to obtain power over others who did not have access to the database.
Another observation is that database contains only representative points. Only points are observed. The astronomer later maps these points on a flat surface and uses it as a continuous model to make predictions. Prediction means a position which was not observed but computed by using the continuous version of the database.
This simple process of data fitting has been made a sacred and mysterious process by doctors of philosophy who now control physics databases. By freeing itself from the priestly middlemen astronomy became a free science in early 20th century. The same will happen in physics when the current priestly middlemen and their Standard Model will be reduced to the laws of database management.
Physics is in fact the philosophical labels physicists attach to the elements of this database.
