Why aren’t physicists scientists?

Short answer:

amateur –> scientist

professional –> anti-science

Academic physicists are professionals therefore they cannot be scientists. But physicists as professionals have the hereditary right to define science.

• Physicists defined science as what physicists do.

The propaganda that physics is science is so well established that physicists use the two words interchangeably. Here for instance Sean Carroll, a Doctor of Philosophy practicing cosmology, a sort of degenerate physics, calls himself “I, a scientist.”

In a previous paragraph he describes what he does: He is attempting to build a time machine.

Therefore, Doctor Sean Carroll implicitly defines a scientist to be someone who builds theoretical time machines.

• A time machine is the Hollywood name for violation of conservation laws.

You may or may not agree with this definition but the fact is that whatever physicists do they define as science.

So reading the mind of god is defined as science.

Investigating the universe before universe existed becomes science.

Because this is what physicists do.

But questioning a legal but corrupt physics experiment is not science.

Because physicists never question legal physics.

• Physics is a profession therefore it is not science.

As professionals physicists must believe without question the doctrine of the profession.

• Professionals are not scientists they are professionals.
