The great chain of absurd

In Part I,  I defined semantic physics to be about meaning and academic physics to be about absurd.

In semantic physics error is knowledge.

Academic physics contains no scientific knowledge because it has no error.

Famous example: If physics gives an error message, such as division by zero, theoretical physicists use their authority to removed the error by making division by zero locally legal. In physics the application of authority to overrule physics is called normalization.

Once locally legal any error can be generalized to be globally legal by giving the error a catchy marketing label such as Black Hole. This way the error is abstracted from its mathematical origin. Once abstracted from its mathematical origin any error can be observed and verified by NASA by associating it with whatever scientific payload NASA had planned for the next mission.

Any bug of physics thus made into a feature of nature by the authority of the physicists can then easily become a field of scientific study which in turn can be used to normalize other annoying errors of physics.

It takes only one generation for an error to become a legitimate field on which PhDs are issued.

Absurd is a lot of fun. Absurd is sexy. Absurd sells. Therefore, the Big Media loves the absurd.

In academic physics absurd is legal. In semantic physics absurd is absurd.

In semantic physics absurd is illegal because you cannot compare apples and oranges.

In academic physics comparing apples and oranges is legal.

Academic physics is based on the physics equation. The polemical tool called equation was invented by Newton in order to legalize comparison of apples and oranges.

In academic physics the authority of the practitioners is absolute. Without the authority of the practitioners the equation would not make any sense.

In semantic physics the practitioners have no authority over meaning. This is achieved by using traditional proportionalities instead of mixed proportionalities called equations.

By using Newtonian equation as its fundamental tool of investigation physics defines itself as polemical philosophy.

Academic physicists negotiate the meaning of definitions in order to test their academic authority to legislate nature.

Next: What is authority?
