How primitive were marketing techniques of the Big Media once!

They actually translated the source of their knowledge, the Bible, into a proprietary language, Latin, and kept their constituency from learning Latin.

To produce and sell a book was as expensive for regular folks as buying a printing press would be for regular folks today. So regular folks did not produce or buy books. Doctors forbid them to learn Latin. Then, Doctors sold the content of the book to the folks. Not page by page but idea by idea. This was the primitive state of marketing 500 years or so ago.

What did Doctors do? Doctors sold to folks what was in the book along with what was not in the book. How surprising. Absolute power corrupts. Doctors are corrupt to begin with and when they have absolute monopoly they became absolutely corrupt. If people could not access the database, Doctors realized that they can sell to folks whatever story they can cook up and assure them that their story comes directly from the book. Remember people could not read the book.

How primitive. We are not such fools right now. Unfortunately for us, Doctors are not such fools either.

Still, we are not illiterate. We can read the Bible if we want to. True. That’s why Doctors no longer sell you the Bible as science. What you can read and understand cannot be science as far as Doctors are concerned.

Doctors have hereditary authority on knowledge. Today we call knowledge science. Doctors have absolute monopoly on science. Doctors have absolute authority on scientific knowledge.

Since we can read the Bible doctors defined it as religion. Remember Doctor means teacher. Doctors make their living by teaching. This seems very innocent. Not when you try to make money by teaching. Imagine in order to make money by teaching there must be something to teach. In order for Doctors to make more money there needs to be more things to teach.

Reading and writing can be learned in an afternoon. Doctors always make learning anything as complicated as possible in order to squeeze out every penny. The more ritualistic you make a subject the more difficult it appears and it takes more time to teach. The more they define the student as stupid and ignorant the more authority Doctors gain.

No Doctor will bother to teach you reading and writing. Doctors will teach you what you can never learn unless you are a candidate to be a Doctor. So the Latin of yesteryears became calculus of today. The Aristotelian canon became Newtonian canon now called physics.

In other words you and I are now the simple folks mentioned above living 500 years ago. Those simple folks of previous times only saw Doctors of Theology as learned people. Doctors of Theology represented science for them. Doctors of Philosophy and Doctors of Theology met in the intersection of Aristotelianism and Christianity. That’s the common ground they negotiated as common ground of the doctrines they can agree upon. And Doctors taught this occult mixture as science!

This Doctor of Theology looked forbiddingly authoritative to you as the common folks of yesteryears. This guy spoke the language of god. He could read the book. He was your only source of knowledge. He “popularized” the science of the day for you and you paid dearly for his services. 99.99 per cent of the authority of this Doctor of Theology came from posturing as authoritative Doctor of Theology and by displaying his authority accessories to you.

You had no choice. Even if you doubted that this Doctor was ignorant of any practical knowledge and full of scholastic gas you did not have time to develop your ideas. You had to work full time to support yourself and your family. Furthermore, there was no point in learning Doctors’ useless book knowledge.

Today is very different. But the difference is only superficial. The relationship between the regular folks and the Doctors is the same. Only the names changed.

We are no longer peasants, they are no longer Doctors of Theology.

We are workers, they are Doctors of Philosophy.

We know how to read and write vernacular but we are still ignorant of the proprietary language of Doctors.

Now instead of seeing a Doctor of Theology in its theological garbs you see a Doctor of Philosophy displaying no symbols of authority on his person. Doctors have become more sophisticated and elegant. How low brow it is to display symbols of authority on your person, such as mitered hats etc. The whole thing is now intellectual. The symbols of authority are elegantly hidden. They are only implied upon. What did not change is that Doctor Greene is still your only source of information into the secrets of the universe. He is a Doctor who is still selling you what is not in the book as if it were in the book. Nowadays the book is the book of nature. The racket is the same racket.

This is a great achievement of the oldest profession in history. The oldest corporation in history is scholasticism. Doctors work for this corporation. This is the greatest marketing achievement of scholasticism.

Remember how Doctors of Theology of yonder years sold you content which was not in the book as if it were in the book. Doctors made up stories and sold them to you by stamping it with the authority of the book. The earth was 3000 years old they said. This is in the Bible they said. What a lie. Well go ahead and check. You can’t. Doctors have protected monopoly. You have no access to the book, you have no access to the language to read the book.

Well, today, obviously, everything is modern, so doctors adopted a modern myth, the cosmic atomic explosion as their standard cosmogonic myth. Now instead of the earth they tell us the age of the universe. Great progress. The universe is 3 billion years old they say. Really? Well. Doctors never lie right? Especially when they have a monopoly and no one can check or verify what they are saying. So go check. Check what? There is nothing to check. At least old Doctors of Theology used the authority of the book as authority. At least they bothered to display visible symbols of authority to sooth our soul. Today Doctors of Philosoph have become so arrogant that they don’t even pretend to use any authority except their own doctoral authority.

I hear sometimes people say, well that was European dark ages. We are not living in Europe and we are not living in dark ages, they say. As long as doctors have authority on science we are living in dark ages.
