The usefulness of Principia as a science book ended with the demise of Natural Philosophy practiced mostly by the British landed gentry. In the 19th century Newtonians changed their trade name to physicists in order to project a professional image and to increase the number of practitioners. Amateurs who studied nature for the love of it were replaced by professional doctors who only cared about their careers. In such a professional industry an archaic book written in an incomprehensible language had no place. What was needed was an unchanging doctrine so that generations of practitioners could be tested by the same standard tests to prove their mastery of the doctrine so that they could move up in the hierarchy. Upon establishing their professional status physicists gracefully retired Principia by defining it as the sacred scripture of the profession. The founder of the profession, now redundant, was defined as the senior statesman with only ceremonial authority.

This is the reason there are two Newtons, historical and mythological.

It is odd that we have Applied Physics on line 8 under Mythological Newton branch. We know that technology excludes mythology and Newtonism. Newton contributed nothing to technology and he was hostile to it. He actively tried to block new developments in electricity by not publishing revolutionary research by Stephen Gray. Modern engineering corporations such as Boeing and Intel do not use anything discovered by Newton.

Should we then place Applied Physics under Historical Newton? No. Historical Newton branch ended with Natural Philosophy. (line 4) Principia contains nothing about manufacture, electricity, high energy or quantum phenomena. Technology should not be in the Newton tree at all. The fact that it is, is due to the propaganda of Newtonian doctors of philosophy.

Newton’s disciples turned Newton into the seven wise men of all times. In Newtonism we are seeing a unification of the classical wise men into one supreme genius closest to gods. Physicists deified Newton and made his occult force the universal cause. The way religion unified multitude of pagan gods under monotheism, Newton’s disciples unified natural phenomena under monocausism. They don’t have to invent a separate cause for each phenomena but their method is still mythological.

Establishing Newton as the mythological deity of genius who made all past, present and future discoveries is one of the greatest marketing achievements of the British propaganda engine. The existence of Newton as deity ruling science also shows that human society did not much change since Thales was a citizen of Miletus.

Ernst Mach’s incomparable The Science of Mechanics tells us that mechanics is as old as astronomy. Newton is a minor contributor to mechanics. His disciples rewrote history of mechanics as a Newtonian science to save their master’s authority. Their propaganda corrupted our language by making Newton synonyms with science and nature.

If the school of Newton is redundant why do we have on line 6 Celestial Mechanics and Terrestrial Mechanics (physics)?

These are supposedly active branches and they are still useful. Not really. Celestial Mechanics is merely astronomy written in Newtonian dynamical notation. It is a high level notation on top of Kepler’s rule.

Terrestrial Mechanics is the old science of mechanics marketed under Newtonian brand. But Line 6 also reveals another physics propaganda. Physicists say that Newton united terrestrial and celestial realms by his discovery of force. Newton did just the opposite. Kepler’s Rule unites, Newton’s force divides. Density unites. Newtonian atomic materialism divides.

In physics mythology Newton shows that the force holding the moon in orbit also makes the apple on earth fall. This is the famous Moon Test of Newton. The Moon test proves only one thing: The Moon moves according to Kepler’s Rule.

After line 6, then, we should have Academic physics divided into Experimental and Theoretical branches.

This makes sense. In physics both theory and experiment are academic. Experiment in academic physics is totally different than experiment in technology. Experiment is yet another good word corrupted by doctors of physics. Technology is highly regulated. It is science. In academic physics experiment exists to prove Newtonian doctrine. Academic physicists build a gadget to oscillate with a period T, then, they measure T and they associate it with a speculation floated by the theoretical branch. Physics is a cozy, hermetic system.

If the same scientific rules of evidence were to be applied to academic physics many would have been disbarred. But no one can disbar physicists. Their license is for life. They are free to violate science and still define what they do as science.
